Majolie

Majolie

Born in the very heart of Canada, where east meets west, Majolie is the newest prairie phenomenon to emerge on the music scene. Nurtured by the feeling of both Aboriginal and celtic rhythms with the richness of harmonies, Majolie transforms classic folk into sound that is progressive and purely Canadian. Audiences have been stirred by the unique sound of majolie, where the marriage of acoustics and vocals finds its most distinct voice.
Julie Coté-Marinelli (vocals, piano, acoustic guitar) is a singer/songwriter originally from rural Manitoba. Raised as a francophone with Metis heritage in a strong Mennonite community, she has captured the essence of prairie Canada.
Marie-Josée Dandeneau (electric & acoustic bass, acoustic guitar, piano, trombone, cello, percussions, flute) is a musician from Saint-Boniface, Manitoba. With a background.that reflects a Metis and Francophone culture, she has created a fiercely independent musical history.
