Ode to Spring / Springtime in Manitoba

by Christopher Macdonald

Ah, springtime in Manitoba -
Where the gentle breezes blow
About 95 km per hour
And it's fifty-two below.

You can tell you're in the 'Toba
'Cause the snow's up to your butt,
And every breath of springtime air
Freezes both your nostrils shut.

Ah, spring's so glorious in our province.
I guess I'll hang around,
Indeed how can I leave the place,
With feet frozen to the ground?
